Overview of DPS Technology Solutions
DPS’ Integrated Battery Platform ("IBP") technology serves OEMs of all types of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). This technology enables customers and ecosystem partners to dramatically reduce their product’s time to market whether for new battery cells or new EVs, and reduce R&D and production costs while enhancing the operating life of the battery systems.
At the heart of the IBP technology is DPS’s innovative “system approach” grounded in our applied understanding of lithium battery cells used for automotive applications that meet EV industry standards. Starting in the early days of DPS, we came up and promoted the concept of UBM (Universal Battery Modules) to group lithium cells efficiently and innovatively. Through years of R&D efforts and many generations of UBM product on prototype vehicles for various vehicle OEMs, DPS has gained tremendous hands-on experience in charting its technology direction and growth priorities. Being cell chemistry agnostic, our products are able to achieve scalability, flexibility and time savings in vehicle integrations at the level of both battery modules (i.e. UBMs) and battery packs. This enables our EV and PHEV customers more easily to design and build various types of electric vehicles with different energy and power requirements. In addition, our proprietary thermal management design makes our system function more efficiently resulting in enhanced performance or usage of the vehicles.
DPS is effectively offering a robust “system solution” beyond a managed energy storage or a battery product. A well-configured (both thermally and electrically) battery system by DPS delivers technological and economic advantages in reducing the total cost ownership of our customers.
